Drug and Alcohol Awareness

Overview:

This course is aimed at care staff and anyone supporting someone with a drug or alcohol dependency. It provides delegates with information about the reasons associated with drug and alcohol dependency and helps raise awareness about how addictions develop and what support can be given to the person to recover.

The course also looks at support systems for families and carers and how these can be accessed.

• What are the effects of drug and alcohol dependency

• Social Factors and culture

• Psychological Effects/ mental health

• Stigma and Labeling

• Accessing services

• Role of the professional

• Support and recovery

Costs:

This is a one day course costing £400 (no vat) and can be delivered to a maximum of 15 delegates.
